Zandu Shiva Gutika is Ayurvedic medicine prepared from Himej. Himej is one of the common name of choti Haritaki (Terminalia chebula). Choti Harre is black in colour, smaller in size and has more laxative effect compared to yellow variety. Zandu Shiva (Himej) Gutika contains fruits extract of haritaki. The constituents of Haritaki fruits are Tannin, chebulic acid, chebullic acid, ellagic acid, gallic acid and resin. Haritaki is one of the very well-known Ayurvedic herb with purgative action.
