Kantakari Avaleha uses: Kantakari Avaleha is used in widely in respiratory condition. It acts as natural bronchodilator and mucolytic. It is used in the treatment of bronchitis, COPD, cough, hiccups and cold.
Kantakari Avaleha dose:
6 – 12 grams of the herbal jam is administered along with honey / warm water / warm milk.
Dosage for children below 5 years of age – 1 – 2 grams, once or twice a day, along with a teaspoon of honey or warm water / milk.
Dosage for children between 5 – 12 years of age – 5 grams once or twice a day along with a teaspoon of honey or warm water / milk.
Kantakari Avaleha side effects:
In higher doses, it may lead to gastric complaints like burning sensation in stomach.

Kantakari – Solanum xanthocarpum – 4.8 kg is added to 12.288 liters of water, boiled and reduced to 3.072 liters. Filtered. This Kashayam is added with the following

Chitraka – Plumbago zeylanica – 48 g

Trikta churna – Pepper, Long pepper and ginger – 48 grams each.
Dhanvayasa – Alhagi pseudalhagi – 48 g
Bharngi – Clerodendron serratum – 48 g
Rasna – Pluchea lanceolata – 48 g
Shati – Hedychium spicatum – 48 g
Sugar – 960 g
Ghee – 384 g
Sesame oil – 384 g
The mixture is heated till semisolid consistency.
Then it is taken out of fire and the fine powder of below mentioned herbs is added.
